Ubuntu Tweak 0.8.7 released: 14.04 ready

It’s late, but I will never forget to support the latest version of Ubuntu.

Here comes Ubuntu Tweak 0.8.7 with Ubuntu 14.04 Trusty support.

Ubuntu Tweak 0.8.7 added support for Ubuntu 14.04, this means you can tweak some 14.04 specific settings.

Like in Nautilus, you can enable the “Recursive Search”:

ubuntu-tweak-087-01

With Unity desktop, you can enable the “click to minimize app” feature, so you can minimize the window of app by click the icon.ubuntu-tweak-087-02

There are other small fixes of Ubuntu Tweak

  • Fix the nautilus scripts support for Ubuntu 13.10 and later (Bug #1242379)
  • Going to workspace adjustement automatically add keyboard shortcut for fade screen (Bug #1240005)
  • Missing options: fonts, desktop icons, window, file manager (Bug #1250252)
  • Never crash when sources.list is not parsable (Bug #1246348)

The PPA for Ubuntu Tweak is ready, you can update Ubuntu Tweak from terminal:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:tualatrix/ppa

sudo apt-get update

sudo apt-get install ubuntu-tweak

or download the package to install.

Enjoy!

Thank you very much for this feature! I love it!

  2. It didnt work on my 14.04. It opened but did nothing to change anything.
After uninstalling I no longer have the right click menu on the desktop and no wallpaper. Just a black desktop. Any clue what it removed or borked?

  13. Hi, I’ve just installed ubuntu-tweak on my Dell laptop running 14.04. It works ok if I run it from a terminal session (sudo ubuntu-tweak) but it doesn’t run from Unity. Any suggestions?

  14. I got this error upon opening it

    user@Ubuntu:~$ sudo ubuntu-tweak
    [sudo] password for user:

  16. 0.8.7 worked with my fresh 14.04 install. However, when I changed some UserFolder settings, I wasn’t asked for credentials. And while the UT display showed the UserFolders with new locations, the changes didn’t actually take place. Even after a restart, the UserFolders showed no location change. I then ran ‘sudo ubunu-tweat’ and the program popped up, but once again, it did not make or retain the UserFolder changes. Please let me know if this is reproducable on some other matchines.

  17. Thank you for your efforts. They are greatly appreciated.
Please bring back “window roll up” feature.
    Thanks…

  18. Hi Ubuntu world
When I’m changing the “Personal Folders” paths to a second harddisc, and I restart my system… all changes lost!
I dried to start Ubuntu Tweak with sudo command. But tere is no difference.
Could be a problem, that the folders at the second disc in my Laptop have the ident name?

    Thanks for tipps..
    Tom from Austria ;-)

    • Hi Guys – that’s me in person ;-)
The problem does no longer exists.
The second device(hard disc) was was not mounted in boot time.
After changing “fstab” it works fine!
