Ubuntu Tweak 0.8.4 released

As you may know, Ubuntu 13.04 is officially release just now! At the same time, Ubuntu Tweak got an update too. This time, it’s Ubuntu Tweak 0.8.4!

Ubuntu Tweak 0.8.4 is still a maintenance version, the support for Ubuntu 13.04, and fixed some critical bugs. Like this one:

You may encountered unexpected issues while installing apps through Ubuntu Tweak: download fails, network is down, then Ubuntu Tweak will popup an error dialog to tell the truth. In the old versions, Ubuntu Tweak will hang after you click the “Close” button, and you have to force close it and launch again. In 0.8.4, this bug is finally fixed! Now enjoy with installing third party apps without any pain :Dubuntu-tweak-084-1

And the following bugs have been fixed too:

  • Ubuntu 13.04 should upgrade the path of scripts (LP: #1155854)
  • creating of a hard link to a directory crashes UT (LP: #1092086)
  • Janitor only shows “System” (LP: #1101264)
  • Window button tweak error in 13.04 (LP: #1114576)
  • Ubuntu Tweak crashes on updating software list (LP: #1081235)


As usual, you can update to Ubuntu Tweak 0.8.4 from the Stable PPA, or just download this deb package and install it.

  9. For me not work two scripts
    – Browse as root
    – Open with your favourite text editor (as root)
    Constant shows that the password is incorrect.

    • I finde the problem – “Run gksu-properties and make sure that the Authentication mode is set to sudo”.
      Ubuntu Tweak is a nice program.

    i just installed Ubuntu Tweaks via ppa.
    When I try to start it i get:
    (ubuntu-tweak:4110): Gtk-ERROR **: GtkBox child GtkTreeView minimum width: -1 < 0 for height 356

    What can I do?

  12. @Albert : if you read previous posts, you would have seen that it’s a bug with gtk 3.8…
    it’s because the api changed, so have to wait for a new version to be compatible with new gtk frontend apis

True Watson, apparently my uignrg that the induhviduals (to use Scott Adams adage) here to at least read the original source material before formulating an opinion on it constitutes Victim blaming, flaming, or personal attacks . I think Kristy’s comment of Those types of people make make me sick! typifies the typical reaction to anyone who disagrees or tries to require them to defend their assertions. So perhaps we should all just leave and let them go back to their Lolz man what idiots posts.
