I’m sorry for the delay of Ubuntu Tweak 0.6, but I’m really busy.
Recently I left from the company where I worked before, and took an 8-days travel in Southern China. It was really amazing!
If you can read Chinese (or use Google Translator),here’s my Chinese blog with travel diary: http://imtx.me/
OK, Let’s talk about Ubuntu Tweak.
In April 1st, the preview of Ubuntu Tweak 0.6 is true. I think many of you have read the post in OMG!Ubuntu, right?
It will not release today, but everything will go on. After my travel, I feel much more better now, in other words, I’m full of energy!
When I came back, I was so surprised that you reported so many bugs! So I released the new bug-fixed version: 0.5.12. jtlebi fixed the bug, thank you!
Ubuntu Tweak 0.5.12 fixed the Unity Launcher options, for more details, visit this page: https://launchpad.net/ubuntu-tweak/+milestone/0.5.12
From this link, you can download Ubuntu Tweak 0.5.12 (Natty only): http://launchpad.net/ubuntu-tweak/0.5.x/0.5.12/+download/ubuntu-tweak_0.5.12-1~natty1_all.deb
During these days, I also received some donations, thank you! I always forget to make a donation list, but I promise it will be made soon.
Aprl 29~May 2 is another Chinese holiday, so I will take a short trip, then come back to make the Ubuntu Tweak 0.6.
Although I haven’t got my next job yet, I’m always enjoying developing with Ubuntu Tweak to make the Ubuntu life easier.
Thank you for your support!
Hi,
I am running Ubuntu 10.04. Ubuntu Tweak 0.5.12 depends on compiz-core, compiz-plugins and libedecoration0. It is strange. I do not use Compiz at all and I do not need/want to install these packages.
Hello
Same here, Ubuntu Tweak 0.5.10 did work well on Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid without Compiz. Today’s update to Ubuntu Tweak 0.5.12 tries to force me to install Compiz which I do not want.
1. Must we stay with Ubuntu Tweak 0.5.10 and never update any more ?
2. Or should we deinstall Ubuntu Tweak definitely ?
3. Or will there be a future Ubuntu Tweak version not depending on Compiz ?
Thank you
If I may be blunt, the moment I installed “Ubuntu Tweak” I instantly fell in love with it. This is by far one of the best softwares available for this distribution and it’s a miracle the developers didn’t think of it themselves. It has made some fairly bothersome tasks of adding ppa, cleaning kernals and editing the look and feel of the UI actually enjoyable! Take that and the ability to actually have a database constantly being updated by the community and this program has just about everything needed for me to give it a five-star rating. I truly hope it will continue a great development, avoiding making mistakes, and I wish you all the best! Good luck!

Dude keep up the good work, that app is amazing, I’m looking forward for the final version for 11.04
I found a bug….. it is impossible to change the start-here icon (Start Menu Icon) in Ubuntu 10.04
Thanks for this great application!
Any chance to follow you on twitter?
Hi,
First up, thanks for a great application !
Every time i start ubuntu tweak, the top panel becomes opaque with a black shadow, though the buttons still work(Just goes black and buttons disappear).
This happens only with ubuntu tweak and not able to reproduce it with anyother application. Is this a bug or am i missing something here ?
Thanks !
After installing new kernel the old kernel won’t show up in the Clean Kernel Option.
Looking forward to the 0.6 version and I don’t mind when it comes as long as it gets finished at some stage.
Ubuntu Tweak is the best!
Yes, I am a big fan of Ubuntu Tweak. It really helps to configure and make my computers more responsive to Ubuntu, which is already a great distro.
