Ubuntu Tweak 0.5.7 released! Hello, Ubuntu Maverick!

Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick Meerkat has been released today,  and there’s another present for you.

Yes, it’s Ubuntu Tweak 0.5.7!

It is a bug-fix version coming with a lot of PPAs update. Everybody should update to this version.

What’s new:

  2. 一直都用u-tweak。
    今天发现更改 登录设置/登录主题/ 的两个图片后,登录时需要输入2次密码,sudo也要输入2次密码。这算不算bug?

  4. Thank you so much!
Ubuntu tweak is running again in my KDE environment!

Since KDE is a graphical user interface that is so much advanced, customizable and interesting than Gnome,
I suggest the creation of Kubuntu tweak.

If not you, then someone else should undertake the task.

In any case, I thank you one more time for this awesome app and that you took the time to fix the KDE bug!

Well, I had the same problem. I was staring at the Tweak window, clicking hopelessly at the greyed out panel… until I randomly tried to scroll up the panel. Arrrggghhh, there it was, at the very bottom of the panel: the UNLOCK button!

This button should be at the top of the panel, readily accessible.

In any event, thanks for a great utility.

  7. Any chance you could include options to change the format of the time and date diplayed in the clock applet in the upper panel? I particularly want to change the format to something like

(I have a wide monitor and I like to see the full date and time!)

  8. It would have been nice to include the manual addition of sources and it appears automatically in Ubuntu Tweak. The sources available in the Ubuntu-Tweak Website we have to add it through add-apt, but it does not appear in the list of sources when you refresh Ubuntu Tweak.

  9. It’s too bad that you removed “Auto Start Programs”,because now i can’t remove a lot useless processes from autostart.

  10. I installed this application on my pc and there are some missing functions. The login settings,Gnome Settings,Window management settings,Desktop recovery and a few others are not there.

  11. Hi, just reinstalled my system with mint 10 rc2. And of course installed tweak 5.7.

strange thing is that the source list in the “software sources” section is really short (I count 13 ppa). Previously it was more like 100 ppa.

Is this issues related to linux mint in general, or release candidates ?

any one has the issue ?

    Thanks

  12. I also have the same problems as EJ and Leti. My OS is Linux mint 10 stable version. There are very few PPA..only 12 of them. The version of Ubuntu tweak is 0.5.7.

By the way great software :)

  13. Same issue with only a few ppa’s showing up… It was working fine until I updated to 10.10 and Mint 10. Both 32 bit distro.

  16. I’m running Lucid on my Netbook and plan to stay with it until Natty comes out.

Do I need an older version of Tweak for Lucid?

  17. I am sooo new to Ubuntu and I installed 10.04. But if I install Ubuntu Tweak will this overwrite my LTS with Ubuntu 10.04 LTS. I really need to stick with this LTS until I learn more.

This is the third time I have installed Ubuntu and this is the BEST version for a newbie learning.

  18. @KDE LOVER
FYI, KDE is very cool, but also very annoying. I have tried it many times, but there is always something weird, buggy, or things popping up in your face or making you misclick when you are just trying to cruise along and get work done.
I keep coming back to Gnome.

  19. I just now tried to install Ubuntu Tweak, but I got an dependence error message:
gconf2 not satisified. This is after a fresh and fully updated Ubuntu 10.04
Then i tried to install it with: sudo apt-get install gconf2
and it said that its already installed

I went back to 10.04 after I found that 10.10 was just not as smooth.
It’s always jerky when you scroll the windows and stuff. Also, I’m having problems finding software that is for 10.10
10.04 just works nicely. As my friends grandpa said: “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”

  21. I am not even Ubuntu user but I saw the video of Ubuntu tweak on Youtube and I came to your website to say Thank you for making such a cool program for Ubuntu users. I am sure they would enjoy it. Keep the hard work and God bless you!

    regards
