It’s one month since the last release of Ubuntu Tweak, I’m pound proud to announce the latest release is comming.
It’s 0.4.7!
I think you’ve already know what’s new in this version, Yes, improved Cleaner with Clean Kernel.
Clean Kernel with Ubuntu Tweak easily
With Clean Kernel, You can easily clean the unneeded old kernel by just selecting, and pressing “Clear”, it will free a lot of disk space.
There’s also other UI importment with Cleaner.
Introduced the PowerUser Mode
When you use the “Source Editor”, “Third-Party Sources” and “Package Cleaner” with Ubuntu Tweak, you should enter the password to unlock the function. Because the operation is system level that may do the harmful action to your system.
But you may think it’s not necessary, because You’re PowerUser.
From now on, Ubuntu Tweak introduced the PowerUser Mode, by enable the feature in the Preferences, you’ll never need to enter the password again when unlock the system features.
Support Linux Mint 6 and Greenie
Ubuntu Tweak got fully support with the Linux Mint 6 and Greenie at this version.
This two excellent distributions also have a lot of users, and they’re based on Ubuntu too, so it’s needed to let Ubuntu Tweak to support them.
See the screenshots, Ubuntu Tweak can run well under Linux Mint 6.
More cool sources
The same as before, a lot of new third-party sources have been added or updated at this version.
The new sources are iBus Input Method,Getting Things GNOME!, Wine-doors, Transmission, Blueman, Synapse, Gwibber(Daily Version), Mozilla Firefox Daily Build and Midori have been updated.
Just Enjoy with the new applications!

Jaunty package is broken, ubuntu tweak gives an error at startup
I think there is a spelling error on “System” tab.
It said “Power Managerment”, while the correct one should be “Power Management”.
@xz
Thanks! I’ve fixed it and uploaded new version.
@animaster
Thank you too. It’s true. I will fix it.

How about support for CrunchBang (#!) Linux in a future release
? It is looking up to be a quite powerful minimal Ubuntu-based distro

please do not add a lot of third party software unless they are necessary…
jaunty repository is still not established in this we page, see: http://ubuntu-tweak.com/downloads
please remove add/remove from applications, we already have this in ubuntu under application menu, so we do not need to have this twice
hey another thing i want to say… under desktop > windows we have -> Enable Metacity’s Compositing feature, which i think should be disable when we have compioz enable, see????.. that is a great idea, see u soon bro
when i say: “should be disable..” i mean that it should not let us enable it when we have compiz enabled

Just tried installing this, and when I clicked on the Compiz Fusion button the program proceeded to completely destroy my desktop. My taskbars vanished, and I couldn’t even open programs from the Run Application box.
After dropping back to text-only I was able to delete the compiz directory in /.gconf/apps. Other than having to reconfigure Compiz, this seemed to fix the problem. Anyone have any advice about what happened?
TX同学你好!
我升级安装了9.04后,Ubuntu Tweak里设置的快捷键就不能了,请问是什么原因?
Dear TX,
I upgrade my system to 9.04 version now. But the hotkeys which are set in Ubuntu Tweak is invalable now. Why?
@Stan
Ok, I’ve added this task to my todo list, I will take a reseach of CrunchBang.
@Manzur
Thanks. Your idea about metacity and compiz is right.
@dirtprof
Hmm, I really tested under Felica i386.
I need to review about this.
@Zak
Sorry to hear that. And I’ve no idea about what happened.
I hope next version it won’t happen again.
@xu
xu同学你好!这个bug已经修正了,新版本很快将会发布。多谢报告!
