Ubuntu Tweak can run under Ubuntu 9.04!

February 2nd, 2009 | by TualatriX |

Hello Everyone!

I’m back from the happy Chinese New Year! How about you?

Ubuntu Tweak is still under active development, and the new version will come soon. Can’t wait to see it?

I’ve seen every comment, but I can’t reply one-by-one. So at first,  let me answer some questions you’ve asked.

When does Ubuntu Tweak support Ubuntu 9.04  Jaunty?

As you see, Ubuntu Tweak can run under Ubuntu 9.04 now. So next version, it will support Jaunty.

All the features except Third-Party Sources can run well under the Jaunty. Because most of the Third-Party Sources haven’t prepared for Jaunty yet.

Is your project open for contributions ?

Of course. As a free software released under GPL, Ubuntu Tweak always opens the door of the contributors.

As I written at Lanuchpad(https://launchpad.net/ubuntu-tweak),  it is welcome that you can write new feature for Ubuntu Tweak, or fixs bug for it.

Can’t File Type Manager run under Ubuntu 8.04?

Hmm, that’s true. Because the lack of the latest library, File Type Manager can only  run under  Ubuntu 8.10(Or later).

Debian support?

I haven’t test Ubuntu Tweak under Debian, but the guy named crackest run Ubuntu Tweak under OpenSUSE! Here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-tweak/+bug/323090

So I guess Ubuntu Tweak can run under Debian too.

Theme of Icons

Ubuntu Tweak is use the tango icon by default. Thansk of Henrique Lechner’s idea, I’ve marked this as a Blueprint. So the future version I will implement this.

So stop here. I know there’s still many questions. If you want to get a answer about something of Ubuntu Tweak, Please ask question here: https://launchpad.net/ubuntu-tweak/+addquestion

The following is the screenshot shows Ubuntu Tweak run under Ubuntu 9.04 Jaunty(Latest development branch)

Did you find anything difference compared to the previous versions?

Hmm, two buttons added. But it’s not the new features.

Oh,  I can’t say more. Just wait untill the final version comes. You will get it soon!
