Ubuntu Tweak came to Fedora!
December 5th, 2008 | by TualatriX |Hello everyone!
I have a good news to tell you, especially to the people who are using Fedora: Now Ubuntu Tweak can work under Fedora now(Of course, without some features).
But it is a good start, isn’t it?
—–
Thanks of Yuan Yijun, by his help, I’ve made a rpm package for Fedora successfully.
I haven’t changed any code of Ubuntu Tweak, Ubuntu Tweak works fine under Fedora. Except the features under “Application” section(Add/Remove, Third-Party Souces and so on), everything works.
Ubuntu Tweak will have a better distribution compatible, this is the first step.
I only tested it under my Fedora 10, so I don’t know whether Fedora 9 or other rpm based distributions can use it.
So, if you are a Fedora people, I hope you can spend a little time to install Ubuntu Tweak and give the news to me. Maybe just a response: It works!
How to install Ubuntu Tweak under Fedora
Install the GPG public key(without this, you will see a warning dialog):
Open your terminal, and run the following commands:
wget http://code.google.com/p/ubuntu-tweak/source/browse/trunk/pubkey/tualatrix.key
(sudo) rpm –import tualatrix.key
Download the RPM package:
Click the link and save file to anywhere you want: ubuntu-tweak-0.4.3-3.noarch.rpm
Then just double-click on the file, choose install:
If everything goes well, you can start use Ubuntu Tweak now!
Enjoy!

Hey
I’m a ubuntutweak user ever.
I like this tool very much .
It’s really a brilliant idea to put it to FC system. But anyway I think you should change its name.for ubuntu tweak is named after ubuntu. So I suggest you change its name as LinuxTweak or GnomeTweak or sth like this.
Hope you make more progress!

ubuntu-tweak-0.4.3-3.noarch.rpm won’t install in Fedora 9 due to the following dependancy problem: “gnome-python2-gnome is needed by package ubuntu-tweak-0.4.3-3.noarch”.
Have tried the usual F9 software sources but can’t find the missing module for download.
Hope you can solve the problem as tweak would be useful on F9.

I can confirm that this also works on arch-linux (compilled from source code)
