Hi, i have the same problem, i try with that^ solution and don&#039;t work, next i reinstalled the ubuntu-desktop and my desktop still black and without icons. I use ubuntu hardy, and i don&#039;t want format and install all the SO again. What can I do?</description>

I installed ubuntu-tweak on Ubuntu 7.10 to test it out ... the installation was no problem, but once I changed a few settings under the desktop tab my entire desktop vanished, it was just a black background. After unchecking all the boxes that I had checked, the correct desktop background image was displayed but no icons.

I was wondering is there any way to roll back to the setting prior to the installation of this software ?</description>
